Whether you are a 5 am jogger, lunchtime walker, or evening gym-goer, many people wonder if there is a particular time of day in which exercise is more beneficial. The answer largely depends upon why you are exercising. While this article will focus on the benefits of morning exercise, future topics will emphasize the pros and cons of afternoon and evening exercise.
Early-Bird Workouts
In general, the best time to exercise is whenever you can be the most consistent. Calories are not burned more efficiently at certain times of the day and fat burning is not, specifically, dictated by a circadian rhythm (it is impacted by intensity of exercise and fueling prior to exercise). However, time of day can certainly impact how you feel during exercise.
